About The Event
Numerous organizations at Winthrop University come together to stage this award-winning play based on V-Day Founder/playwright Eve Ensler's interviews with more than 200 women. With humor and grace the piece celebrates women's sexuality and strength. Through this play and the liberation of this one word, countless women throughout the world have taken control of their bodies and their lives. For more than twelve years, The Vagina Monologues has given voice to experiences and feelings not previously exposed in public. Join Winthrop students and organizations as we rise again for V-Day.
About The Organization
Winthrop University Health and Counseling Services and Alpha Psi Omega
The Department of Health and Counseling Services supports the health and wellbeing of Winthrop students. We believe in the dignity, integrity, growth potential, and innate worth of the individual, and we offer services to foster whole-person health through prevention, education, assessment, treatment, and advocacy.
Alpha Psi Omega exists as a vehicle for the advancement of theatre on Winthrop University's campus. We encourage pride in one's work and demand an attitude of service from our members. Through theatrical productions, campus activities, and community service, Alpha Psi Omega will strive to play an active role in campus life. In doing so, we hope to foster a love for stage among our members and our school.
