Play Acting Performance Centre is a Singapore based organisation that works at empowering women through theatre.
SANGEETA NAMBIAR, Director, Play Acting Drama Centre, has been involved in theatre, films, documentaries and ad films for the past 22 years. She has directed over 15 plays, 1 award winning feature film and 6 short films.
She has done theatre courses in Improv and Theatre for the Social Good. She has also done a short screenplay workshop with the Raindance Film School, London. She is currently doing an intensive course with the New York Film Academy in Screenplay writing.
Sangeeta believes in using theatre effectively in order to bring changes to society. As one of the Singapore co-ordinators for One Billion Rising, she worked on a play with students that brought awareness amongst the youth, about issues with regards to women. The play was invited to be staged at the Student Con at the Lee Kuan Yew School of public policy. She attended the Womens Economic Forum in May 2016 in Delhi and is now the All Ladies League Chairperson for Theatre for Change, Singapore chapter. She is also the recipient of the Mira Nair award for Rising Female Film maker at the Harlem International Film Festival.
