About The Event
One Billion Rising Miami joins Miami Dade Counties' Coordinated Victim's Assistance Center (CVAC), There Is Hope For Me, The Miami-Dade Human Trafficking Coalition, The Women's Fund of Miami and Share Your Heart to present a cutting-edge Human Trafficking forum, SURVIVORS' VOICES.
Leadership and insight will be given directly from a panel of survivors of both Labor and Sex Trafficking. These experts will be revolutionizing the way we create awareness in our community by educating attendees and the media on how to recognize and stem the often invisible explosion of Human Trafficking right here in South Florida.
The program includes the Survivor panel led by Author, Sex Trafficking and Modern Day Slavery expert, Dr. Katariina Rosenblatt, followed by a forum of expert service providers who will provide tools to every citizen to enable the community to be first-line responders and activists. The event will include performances by Viking Freedom Writers and short films from One Billion Rising, representing the over one billion women and girls who suffer abuse and whose voices deserve to be heard, yet are often marginalized.
