About The Organization

Bay Area Rising

Bay Area Rising is a volunteer coalition of local artists, activists, and ritualists dedicated to the womanist-feminist ideals of individual empowerment, loving community, the personal as political, co-creative and collective action, and connecting the everyday to the sacred. We develop living circles of beauty, strength, and transcendence by combining art, spirituality, and activism to confront and heal harm from numerous structures that degrade people and communities, with a focus on violence against women and girls.
