About The Event
Last year in 2017, we felt the tragic loss and in respect, mourned together with the country and did not hold any events.
This year in 2018 - International Women's Day should be bigger than ever before. this will be our 4th event!
Our last Flash Mob event in 2016 was a 3-venue extravaganza that took dancing at Benjasiri Park, Siam Square and Central World. What an epic event.
This year will only be bigger and better!
We are planning to have Gender-based violence focused events for a whole week -Movie/Film Screenings, art installations, spoken word evening and of course our flashmob dance!
About The Organization
Bangkok Rising
Since 2012, Bangkok Rising has organised One billion rising events in Bangkok, bringing women, children and families together to dance on International women's Day and make posters, play music and raise awareness for the elimination of gender based violence. Bangkok Rising is a volunteer women's organisation.
About The Organizer
Chiedza Mutsaka Skyum
Researcher and University Lecturer - One of the Founding members of Bangkok Rising who would do her most for a dance marathon, a microphone and stage and an end to violence against women.
