About The Event
Fahari Yetu Foundation will organize charity walk with the aim of rising awareness on sexual and reproductive health (SRH)of young girls and women with disabilities. The walk will start at Tanganyika Pecos Kawe grounds and end at shekina garderns, Mbezi beach. After the walk there will be one hour lesson and experience sharing moment from gender and disability expert who will share her experience as an expert as well disable person on SRH rights and propose a way forward on how best we can stand up and advocate for this theme in our communities.
As part of the events, t-shirts, fliers and brochures with the message "Rise Up for Young girls and Women with disability" will be distributed to all participants.
About The Organization
Fahari Yetu Foundation
FAHARI YETU FOUNDATION is a registered nonprofit company owned and managed by Tanzanians. It supports local communities in Tanzania in fight against poverty particularly in rural and disadvantaged townships in cities. Currently, Fahari Yetu Foundation is implementing Stand Up for Women and Girls with Disabilities Project which seeks to assist and empower women and girls with different forms of disabilities in Tanzania, who are among the most marginalized groups, facing discrimination and abuse. The project intends to help these women and girls overcome various barriers that impedes their development and limits their already limited capacities and abilities, thus subjecting them to further disabilities and handicap.
