About The Event

One billion reasons to end violence against women. People from across Preston [Lancashire UK] are being invited to gather at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) to dance and stand together to demand an end to violence against women as part of a global event. On Wednesday14 February 2018 the UCLan Creative Communities Group is inviting students and local people to come together as part of the One Billion Rising for Justice campaign to end violence against women and girls around the world. The Preston event will bring as many people as possible to UCLan's Tom Finney Sports Centre to dance and stand together in solidarity on the same day as people from 200 other countries around the world. The UCLan event has been organised by the UCLan Creative Communities Group and will take place 11.30am – 12.30pm on Wednesday 14 February in UCLan’s Tom Finney Sports Centre. Anyone wishing to take part can simply turn up on the day.
