About The Event

One Billion Rising for Justice Owen Sound in conjunction with No More Silence, Owen Sound - Justice for Indigenous Women is bringing two events in one evening to focus on justice for women. Join us for a Teach-In to honour Our Sisters and explore "What is Justice?". Dance to release energy and heal through movement. Dancing will include Nia, Zumba and Freedance. There will also be a Jingle Dress Dance - a healing dance later in the evening followed by a Feast. Participate in the Hearts for Women Project, Speaker's Corner, our children's activity corner.....and more. There will be Flashmobs during the day and earlier in the week, weather permitting.

Through the creative arts, presentations and planned events, we promote awareness and influence change by educating ourselves and our community about issues that affect us all. One Billion Rising for Justice Owen Sound consists of members of H.E.R Grey Bruce.

About The Organizer

Esther Gieringer

Esther has been a core member of H.E.R Grey Bruce since 2010. She helped to bring One Billion Rising to Owen Sound last year. She has a passion for Justice and a passion for Dance. She is currently a Nia Green Belt Instructor in Owen Sound.
