About The Event

One Billion Rising is an international campaign calling on people around the world to stop, dance and rise to represent the one billion women that suffer from violence. This worldwide revolution is an invitation to join the movement in speaking out against sex assault, domestic violence, sexual harassment and other forms of violence usually targeted at women. The main goal of this event on the UHM campus is to offer an artistic means of expression and empowerment to those who believe that gender based violence needs to stop both in our community and around the world. This event will also educate the campus community regarding gender based and resources that can be used both on campus and around the state.
