About The Event
HER Grey Bruce brings you One Billion Rising Revolution 2017.
This event will focus on the importance of movement and breath to help Heal, Empower and Re-educate our body, mind, emotions and spirit. We will provide a short introduction to Trauma and Violence Informed Care for our community. We will RISE DANCE CONNECT.
Doors open at 5:30 pm - by donation.
6:00 Welcome and Intro,
6:30 Qi Gong with Mark,
7:00 Yoga for Kids with Becky,
7:30 International Folk Dancing with May,
8:00 T'ai Chi with Carolynne,
8:30 Classic Nia with Esther,
9:00 Zumba with Emily,
9:30 Closing.
Members of HER Grey Bruce will each present a poem throughout the evening.
Craft room available for children.
Light snacks and refreshments available.
Bring your water bottle and indoor shoes.
This year marks the 30th Anniversary of V-Day and 5th Anniversary of One Billion Rising.
The general theme for One Billion Rising this year is Solidarity Against Exploitation of Women.
To "exploit" - to utilize, especially for profit - to use selfishly for one's own ends.

HER Grey Bruce (launched on June 10, 2010 in Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada) unites voices to Heal, Empower, and Re-educate women, girls and our community. Through the creative arts, presentations and planned events, we promote awareness and influence change by educating ourselves and our community about issues that affect us all.

Esther Gieringer
Mother, grandmother, Registered Nurse, Certified Nia Blue Belt Instructor with a passion for dance and the importance of movement and breath practice for healing of Body, Mind, Emotions and Spirit.
Core member of HER Grey Bruce since it launched in 2010. One Billion Rising Owen Sound organizer since 2012.
Currently involved in self-directed education to become a Trauma and Violence Informed Care Consultant.
Singer songwriter with a love of music and lyrics/poetry to bring awareness to issues that affect us all.
