Povjerenstvo za ravnopravnost spolova Grada Novigrada-Cittanova/ The Commission for Gender Equality of the City of Novigrad-Cittanova is an advisory body of the City Council of Novigrad-Cittanova. It has been established in 2004, and the third assemblage was formed in December 2013. The Commission for Gender Equality of the City of Novigrad-Cittanova plans and organizes different activities, researches and projects that focus on women and women's rights. As the advisory body of the City council, the Commission is obligated to ensure the implementation of the Act on gender equality in public administration.
Main goals of the activities organized by the Commision are: introducing the gender issues, raising awareness of the discrimination on the grounds of sex and violence against women, and promoting women's rights and equal opportunities in the political, social, cultural, economic, civil or any other area in the City of Novigrad-Cittanova. The long-term goal of the Commission is to establish a recognizable identity and to achieve a constant presence in the public sphere of the city of Novigrad-Cittanova.
