About The Event
Please invite your friends and family to come and be a part of a global revolution that is demanding an end to violence against women. This year there is a focus on drumming as well as dancing, so please bring along any percussion instruments that you have to join in the drumming circle and make some noise. One Billion Rising is a family friendly event that encourages women, men and children to show their support for survivors and the belief that the world should be free from violence for girls and women everywhere.
In the event of wet weather our alternative venue will be the Hamilton Uniting Church Hall, 150 Beaumont St, Hamilton.
About The Organization
Warlga Ngurra Women and Children's Refuge
For the past 25 years, Warlga Ngurra has been a safe haven for indigenous women and children. Their clients come from across the country most of whom are seeking refuge from domestic violence.
