About The Event
At 4:00 PM on February 14th, 2015, Nantucketers will gather at The Dreamland to stand in solidarity with over one billion people in more than 200 countries across the world who are calling for an end to violence against women and girls. This year’s One Billion Rising event at the Dreamland will incorporate dancing, drumming, spoken word, and rising statements from islanders who pledge to take action against gender violence in our community. Collaborators include: Nantucket Dreamland, A Safe Place, Access Nantucket, Nantucket Drum Circle, and Spoken Word Nantucket. This event will include both children and adults.
