ONE BILLION RISING is a day of uprising and celebration initiated by the playwright and campaigner Eve Ensler, author of The Vagina Monologues. Last year most of the world's countries took part and this year it is set to be even bigger, we want Manchester to be a part however small or big. Please watch the moving and inspiring video documenting last years rising up about violence to women and girls: 1 in 3 women on the planet will be beaten or raped in their lifetimes. Across the planet women and men in their millions will be rising up in dance joyfully as part of this important global movement to make a stand for justice and an end to violence against women and girls Dance the joy of being alive, of being sexual, loving beings with the capacity to love and treasure and honour each other and make a happier world.
