DANCE DEMONSTRATION AT RATHAUSMARKT LÜBECK WE will be dancing and demonstrating for an end of violence against girls, women and other FLINTA* in front of the town hall of Lübeck on the Rathausmarkt Lübeck on June 19, 2024 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. "According to the UN, a third of all women and girls are beaten or raped at some point in their lives. That is one billion women worldwide who are victims of violence. One Billion Rising is a worldwide movement that was launched in September 2012 by New York artist and feminist Eve Ensler. Since then, a billion women and men have been called on Valentine's Day to leave their homes, schools, businesses and workplaces and to jointly protest against violence against girls and women. On February 14, 2023, people all over the world will meet again in public places to demand an end to the violence. So leave your work, leave your school, interrupt the Day, rise for Revolution! Dance, drum and demand an end to the violence!" (Quote from OBR Berlin) The 19th of June is the international day for ending sexualized violence in globald conflicts and in the face of conflicts and wars worldwide we stand together and demand an end to all violence and genderbased violence especially.
About The Organization
Juso Hochschulgruppe Lübeck
The Juso Hochschulgruppe is a group of social democratic university students. We are a feminist group and want to, together with the people of Lübeck, take a stance against violence against girls, women and other minorities such as FLINTA*-people. We want to organize this event in 2024 for the second time after we have organized the one in February 2024 as well.
