About The Event
One Billion Rising KC is a free community arts-activism event that coincides with the One Billion Rising Events happening worldwide to speak out against violence towards women. Everyone of any gender, gender identity, or gender expression who wishes to engage with women's rights as human rights is welcome. This is a family friendly event. All ages are welcome; however due to the expected volume of participants, those under 16 should be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Participants can engage in three ways:
1. Sharing this event with everyone you can, invite everyone you can, and plan on sharing your participation on social media
2.Dancing with us in a flash mob. (Link to the YouTube tutorial will be posted soon). This dance is designed to be powerfully simple and accessible for everyone to move with. You don't even have to practice if you don't want to because we will have dance-leaders there to follow along with!
