About The Event

ONE BILLION RISING KC Kansas City’s Annual Public Dance-Mob for Human Rights March 6th, 2021 @ 01:00 pm CST One Billion Rising KC is a free community arts-activism event that coincides with the One Billion Rising Events happening worldwide to speak out against violence towards women. https://www.onebillionrising.org/about/campaign/ Everyone of any gender, sexual identity, or gender expression who wishes to engage with women's rights as human rights is welcome. This is a family friendly event. All ages are welcome; however due to the expected volume of participants, those under 16 should be accompanied by a responsible adult. Everyone will wear red and/or pink colored clothing in solidarity with women and girls around the world. Participants can engage in three ways: 1. Sharing this event with everyone, inviting everyone, and planning on sharing your participation on social media. Groups, organizations, and churches are welcome. #obrkc2020 #onebillionrisingkansascity2021 #standrisedance21 2. Dancing with us in the flash mob. Find the tutorials at: https://youtu.be/PMVF0mOE3rg https://youtu.be/kp0xQVx7QnEThis dance is designed to be powerfully simple and accessible for everyone to move with. Don’t be nervous, if this is your first dance-mob because we will have dance-leaders there to follow along with. 3. Standing as a 'living art piece' holding your personal art, banners, or signs about ending violence against women. This is a great option for those who do not wish to dance.
