One Billion Rising Cambodia

About The Event

One Billion Rising Cambodia is honored to invite those who demand justice to join the campaign to: 1. Demand justice for women who have been discriminated against, sexually harassed, threatened and suffered violence; 2. Demand justice for women human rights activists; 3. Denounce all forms of exploitation of women; and 4. Urge all television channels in Cambodia to stop showing any acts of violence in their programs. Through One Billion Rising Campaign, we urge the authorities at all levels to maintain and implement effective strategies and policies to ending all forms of violence against women and girls.

Agenda for the Day

1:00-2:30 Arrival and registration of participants, Face painting and photo taken by all participants
2:30-2:40 Welcome remark and announcement of the OBR program
2:40-2:50 Dancing “Break the Chain ”, OBR activist will dance on the stage and the song “ Break the Chain” song will play 2 times (in English and in Khmer)
2:50-3:10 The meaning of the song “Break the Chain” will be explained to the audiences
3:10-3:20 Short Video's of OBR activities in Cambodia from the previous years and sharing the activities from the other countries on the OBR Campaign as well
3:20-3:40 OBR Activists will share their opinions toward ending VAW, This program will also opend to everyone to express their view (as much as they want)
3:40-4:00 Short video sharing:”Safe city” and “You are not the actor”
4:30-5:00 Performance by Messenger Band
5:00-5:30 Mr. Ma Chanpanha the popular singer among Young Cambodias people will sign three songs (his original song)
5:30-6:30 Mr. Ma Chanpanha will join “ Break the Chain” dance together and closing
