Bangkok Rising is a volunteer women's community organisation in Bangkok that organises awareness-raising campaigns and events for the elimination of violence against women and girls. For two years in a row on International Women's Day in March 2013 and 2014, Bangkok Rising joined the global 'ONE BILLION RISING' campaign (in partnership with V-Day Foundation). We are also the same group of diverse women that bring The Vagina monologues to Bangkok every year!
Annually in November-December, Bangkok Rising partner with UN WOMEN's UNiTE campaign for and end to violence against women. For the first time, Bangkok joined in the 16 Days #orangeurworld campaign #BangkokRising

Main Organiser of Bangkok Rising since mid-2013, it has been an amazing experience sharing the lives of so many diverse women living and working in Bangkok. Bangkok Rising gives us all a medium to express ourselves and really find a home with like-minded advocates for women. EVERYONE in our group is a volunteer and there is room for all levels of participation. We rise!
