About The Event
One Billion Rising is a global campaign that invites one billion women and those who love them to demand an end to the violence.
ANU supports this goal and is proud to host the event. We are honoured to have the collaboration of many of our invaluable anti-violence organisations including the Domestic Violence Crisis Centre, White Ribbon, Rape Crisis Centre and UN Women, Victims Support at the AFP, the YWCA, Womens Centre for Health Matters and Amnesty.
We would like to invite you to stand with us and unite against the unacceptable statistics of violence against women. The one hour event will include speakers, dancing and performances from local community groups including "Hit 'n Miss", a Canberra based all female drumming group and The Canberra School of Bollywood Dancing.
