Flash Mob Yoga and meditation 11AM to 1PM in front of UNM Zimmerman Library. Flash Mob Dance Break the Chain afterwards. Hello to all! One Billion Rising is the global movement to end violence for women and girls. In 2013 over 217 countries rose for women's rights and for justice. It is estimated that 1 in 3 women on the planet will be raped or beaten in her lifetime. That is 250,000 women in NM alone! Albuquerque has the highest rate for human trafficking in the United States. It is time those women have justice and their stories heard! The RISING of 2013 encouraged people everywhere to RISE.STRIKE. and DANCE against violence. This year the short film about the RISING was featured at the Sundance Film Festival and we intend to make this year bigger and better than last. Won't you join us? For your daughters, your sons, your mothers, your sisters, your friends, your aunts, your girlfriends... for you? NEW MEXICO IS RISING! -We will be holding rehearsals for the flash mob dance THIS SATURDAY and NEXT February 1st and 8th from 2-4p at Rhythm Dance Company. -February 14th our RISING will be on UNM Main Campus beginning at 11a. Please be there early as we will be getting started at 11a with a Yoga Flash mob lead by the amazing V-Warrior Samantha Logan, and beginning at 12p we will be running through the Break The Chain Flashmob.
