The BCC Dance Club is a student-run organization at Bergen Community College (Paramus, NJ) dedicated to celebrating the rich heritage of dance and the joy of dancing as an art form, a performance art, and forum for expression and creativity. The dance club strives to bring its love of dance to the campus community and to the greater surrounding areas. Its members, officers, and advisors hold a deep and abiding respect for all dance forms and styles as dance has spanned nearly all cultures and generations. The focus of the club is to create a fun, creative, and safe environment for dancers and dance club members. The club provides a broad range of movement experiences and opportunities to explore dance in a number of ways: dance education in weekly technique classes and monthly master classes with active dance professionals; dance appreciation through viewing of dance videos and live performances; performance experiences on and off-campus; outreach opportunities through workshops and performances with various organizations; diversity, leadership, and teamwork through inter-club collaborations; and advocacy for dancers and the profession at large through mentoring and professional networking. The club seeks to encourage individuality and boost the confidence of each member while maintaining a sense of club cohesion and unification.
