About The Event

Noosa will perform the " Break The Chain "dance at 6pm on Noosa Main Beach in front of the Noosa Heads Surf Club on Sunday 14th February. Councillor Frank Wilkie will open the event. There will be drumming led by Ian Cameron and Duncan Macqueen. Kath williams and the Insinc choir will bring their amazing voices to share with us this year. This is an all ages event - we have had participants aged 8 to 88 years dance with us. We hope to grow the number of participants and spectators this year and raise more needy funds to assist local women and their families who have experienced domestic violence. 2013 saw approximately 150 community members dancing, and 2014 saw over 200 women and men dancing and drumming. In 2014 we raised nearly $1100 to donate to our local Salvation Army Women's Shelters. In 2015 over 200 dancers joined again and again $1000 was raised for our local women's shelter.
