About The Event
The youth of Kutaisi is rising at the central square of the city to set a sign against domestic violence and sexual discrimination! We dance both Georgian dances as well as the OBR dance and try to make this a creative art gathering. A forum theatre will be opening the event and we plan to invite person's to tell their own empowering stories, as people's tolerance, understanding and sympathy for victims of (domestic,) sexual violence and discrimination is very low and we hope to raise awareness that people have equal rights and that discrimation and violence violates those rights!
About The Organization
Fund "Sukhumi"
We are a women's organisation aiming at educating and strengthening civil society through youth work, trainings and workshops on gender based violence. We also provide psychological and juristic consultation for our benefeciaries who are ever so often victims of domestic violence. We have Women Support Centers in 6 cities in Western georgia, where we realize our aims, especially in the communities of IDPs from Abchasia.
