About The Event
On 14 February 2015*, North Bay Area are gathering to Dance across the Bridge at 8AM so we can walk, dance, rise and celebrate our Revolution. Calling on women and men everywhere to DRUM, DANCE, RISA, and LET'S KEEP THIS REVOLUTION MOVING! Join us for an early morning dance across the Golden Gate Bridge at 8:00am. WHO: One Billion Rising WHAT: Dance Across the Golden Gate Bridge: One Billion Rising! WHEN: Friday, February 14, 2015 8:00am WHERE: Gather at the southeast end of the eastern walkway ONE BILLION RISING REVOLUTION is a global call to women survivors of violence and those who love them to gather safely in community outside places where they are entitled to justice OR simply public gathering places where women deserve to feel safe but too often do not. It is a call to survivors to break the silence and release their stories – A big change must be force with union, with clarity and with the enough wisdom to impact deeply on the woman and man of our concern…Most of them are pretty far away from what we see and what we would do…they even imagine about a way out. So the revolution means going further, break the bareers of languages, give real tools and skills beyond the motivation and braveness to start. And not only having the victims as our main point, but also having the whole community and human beings with the consciousness of responsability and that WE are the motor of the change. So the actions we should take are SEE, LISTEN and RESPECT, EDUCATE, DO and PERSIST to transfer generations…Most of us relates with friends, Family, Kids, and work partners….So..the place to start being the Motor of the Revolution is too Near to give a excuse…SO: look at your daily life and start NOW the following actions –> SEE, LISTEN and RESPECT, EDUCATE, DO and PERSIST
