About The Event
One Billion Rising Croatia is taking place on Cvjetni trg (Flower square), in the very center of Zagreb, capital of Croatia. The event starts at noon and will gather more than 1000 people. The event will start with drumming as a symbol of invocation of revolution - performed by immigrant drummers and other drumming groups, inviting different performing groups and audience to join in to support state ratification of Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (Istanbul Convention). Eminent public figures, including President of Croatia, City Mayor, sportspersons, actors, singers and activists will read the excerpts from the Convention in order to raise awareness on violence against women and mobilize stakeholders to entry into force of the Istanbul Convention.
After reading and concert we plan as a part of the campaign to release 1000 red balloons.
