One Billion Rising
OAKLAND RALLY & FLASHMOB DANCE!
Frank O’Gawa Plaza
Purpose: To raise awareness about violence against women and girls in our area (domestic violence, sexual assault, trafficking, gun violence); to educate about available services, advocacy, and support; and to celebrate healing, joy, and life!
4:30 PM - Drum Jam with Afia Walking Tree & Drummers
5:00 PM –Dancers (Heather, Kris, and Sridevi) Flashmob Dance
5:10-5:3 0PM speakers: Oakland Mayor Libby Shaaf, Shelter Representative (A Safe Place), Misssey’s Fruitvale Anti-Trafficking Representative Falilah Aisha Bilal, Executive Director
5:30 PM -2nd Flashmob dance to “Break the Chain”
