MDSI was initially established in 1983, as an outreach project of the Liverpool Migrant Resource Centre, to provide settlement and re-settlement services for migrants and refugees residing in the Campbelltown, Camden and Wollondilly Local Government Areas. In 2009 we launched our new name, Macarthur Diversity Services Initiative Ltd (MDSI) reflecting our ongoing commitment to providing new and innovative charitable services throughout the Macarthur region. MDSI is a not-for-profit charity that offers practical help and support services to the disadvantaged and marginalised. MDSI seeks to ensure that our organisation and our services are relevant and accessible. Based on an integrated service delivery system MDSI’s programs are specifically tailored through four broad service areas: children, youth, family and aged.
In partnership with Urban Growth NSW, MDSI initiated the One Minto Community Development Project in order to facilitate a variety of long term locally managed projects to enhance the social, recreational, health, employment and education opportunities in the Minto area. The Minto Marketplace V-Day dance is an initiative of the facilitator, Jennifer Russell, in collaboration with Sarah Redfern High School and Minto Marketplace.
