About The Event
We are planning the first (as far as we know) One Billion Rising event in Malawi.
Called Malawi Dzuka - Malawi Rises - it will bring together women, Malawi Girl Guides, Malawi Police, a gospel singer and girls who have broken out of the usual model of early marriage and child-bearing. All role models.
It will be a celebration of women and girls and a show of strength and resistance to harmful, degrading and often violent, cultural norms.
