About The Event
On February 14th from 10 to 11:30am, join the global movement, One Billion Rising, aimed at raising awareness about and resistance to rape culture, sexual assault and harassment. Bring a red cloth, any length or material, any shade of red. Share your personal symbol of strength and solidarity.
Guest speakers include U-46 school board member and recent winner of the Dr. King Humanitarian Award, Traci O'Neil Ellis, who will talk about raising boys, and Elgin Police Chief Jeff Swoboda, who will address men's roles and responsibilities toward changing rape culture and the objectification of women.
