Dedalus social cooperative has thirty years experience in research, design and functioning of services of social value, in order to intervene in issues related to social exclusion of vulnerable groups, the local economy and local development. Dedalus looks with special interest topics related to migration and migrants' rights and obligations of persons in their paths of emancipation and citizenship.
Primary objective of the activities undertaken by Dedalus is the construction processes of access to social citizenship rights in all their forms.
Dedalus was born in Naples in 1981 by a group of people, experts in economics, the labour market, research and social policies. Since the end of the nineties it has greatly expanded the social structure involving social workers, mediators and new foreign professionals.
Since 1986, Dedalus dedicates most part of its activities in studying influx of immigrants, particularly leading
research about their placement in local labour market, both with a theorical-academic approach and analyzing services through observation and monitoring. Dedalus put in use a specific way of research that privileges a highly operating methodology, an active social research proposed not only as an instrument of theorical acquaintance but also as the driving force behind change.
The research conjugate surveys and participation methods and it’s used to plan out, together with local players, possible solutions to actual problems, using, in the operating phase, all feedback arriving from beneficiary to correct the interventions.
