Foundation for Equality was set up in May 2010 by a group of concerned professionals and volunteers who share a belief that equality is a vital issue in today’s society.
Our focus is on promoting gender equality and counteracting discrimination against individuals and groups because of their gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, personal convictions, race, disability and financial status. Our mission is also to create greater access to health and sex education, provide information about birth control methods, and support research on equality of rights.
We intend to effectively counteract violence against women and take all the necessary measures to ensure that their rights are protected. Another focus of our organization is to raise public awareness about discrimination against women and other social groups. We want to support the participation of all women to create a civil society in which social dialogue becomes a means of implementing equality of rights to everyone.
We put our ideas into practice by providing professional advice (legal, psychological) to victims of violence and discrimination and by dispersing information about the criminal justice system and the current law. We are continually developing and promoting new solutions for improving protocol in dealing with all aspects of discrimination and violence.
