About The Event
Please join us this Friday February 16th, 2018 at Linear Park in Brownsville for a candlelit vigil in support of women and oppressed groups who have been victims of oppression, physical, verbal and sexual abuse or trafficking, and marginalization. Be liberated; tell your story and be supported. We are not alone and we will not take it anymore.

AWIA will provide tea lights or you may BYOC (Bring Your Own Candle) to show your support for your mothers, daughters, grandmothers and granddaughters, sisters, and nieces as they tell their story and demonstrate victory over their personal struggles. Anyone is welcome to share your story verbally or as an artistic expression via poetry, art, dance, or music.
