About The Event
One Billion Rising takes place for the fourth time. This year the theme is Escalate Revolution! Around 250 young people will rise. They are students from the Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts and from the High School 2College Jozefmavo, both in Tilburg. Once again we use our own music and dance, which is created by students from the Rock Academy and Academy for Dance Education. All 250 students will dance in the center of the city, where they will perform in front of the shopping audience. There will also be workshops for the audience to participate, so we can rise together!

Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts
Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts (in Dutch: ‘Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten’, FHK) provides higher professional education on bachelor’s and master’s degree level in the field of: art education and performing arts. In close collaboration, teachers and students of the Fontys Academy for Dance Education organize the yearly event for One Billion Rising.
