The Peace Action, Training and Research Institute of Romania (PATRIR) is a non-governmental, non-profit and politically independent organization located in Cluj-Napoca. The organization was founded in 2001 because of the request of representatives from different social sectors who expressed a need of change within the local communities.
The vision of PATRIR is to build a society in which democratic participation is possible, peace becomes the norm and human rights become the basis of our living together.
Therefore the main tasks of PATRIR are peacebuilding, transformation of conflicts, violence prevention and reconciliation and healing after violence experiences. The Institute concentrates on action, training, research and advocacy and awareness rising to fulfill their vision.
As PATRIR we are working towards an end of all kind of violence and to promote a more peaceful society for all human beings. Aiming this we especially see it as important to combat violence against women and girls.
