10:15-11:45 a.m. and 12:15-1:30 p.m. Read-ins to End Violence: The launch of a new program for K-8 students with readings, discussions, and activities. We hope to get this into the schools next year!
10:15-11:30 a.m.
- Guy Talk: Join campus, community, and student leaders in discussing President Obama’s recent call for a
“cultural shift of men” in regards to violence. Brainstorm what this might look like and how to achieve a broader, healthy, vibrant, non-violent cultural norm for masculinity.
- Young Guys Talk: Similar to above, for middle schoolers.
- Wake Up, Be Awesome: Rise to your fullest potential. Energize and empower your body, mind, and heart with a free, guided yoga class.
11:35-11:45 a.m. “Child Bride”: Theatrical performance by undergraduate student Lima Islamzai about life growing up in Afghanistan. (For high school students or adults.)
11:50 a.m. Flash Mob by the UMC fountains or the stage by the UMC grill. Learn the dance steps at http://tinyurl.com/cu-flashdance. Or just come watch or join in.
12:15-1:30 p.m. Embrace Conflict, Create Peace: A Boulder Ki Aikido workshop on developing peaceful ways of dealing with adversity, conflict, and aggression.
