About The Event
Globally, 1 in 3 women are beaten or raped in their lifetimes. We don't have accurate data for Nepal but believe that violence against women and girls could well be above the global average. Women and girls continue to be abused, exploited and oppressed in multiple ways. Can we NOT do something about it?
Yes we can!
Join us on 14 February and rise with us! Let’s disrupt ‘normality’ and be noticed! Let’s build partnerships and connect!
The violence, abuse, exploitation and oppression of women and girls must stop!
Impunity for those who abuse and exploit women and girls must end!
On 14 February we’ll dance to show that though we have suffered we can still express joy and community to show that we are undefeatable by the violence, or impunity for those who attack women and girls.
Together we will resist violence and abuse of all forms, alongside the ONE BILLION men and women around the world who will rise today.
One Billion Rising is a revolution of women, and men who love their women – and love humanity. The global theme for this year’s One Billion Rising is stopping EXPLOITATION of women and girls.
Exploitation at home, at work, everywhere! It must STOP!
Governance Facility will join flash-mobs at four Kathmandu Valley locations on 14 February. We invite you to join us. Join us in numbers – men, women and children – because we are the world and also because it is we are who can make the world what we want it to be.
