ActionAid Liberia is a country program of ActionAid International, an international federation with headquarters in Johannesburg, South Africa and registered in the Hague. ActionAid operates in more than 40 countries globally. ActionAid Liberia started in 1997, as a cross-border initiative managed by ActionAid Sierra Leone. ActionAid Liberia moved from humanitarian assistance in internally displaced people’s camps to rights-based development programs focusing on Women and Girls Rights, Youth and Urban Poverty and Governance and Advocacy.
AAL’s vision is ‘a world without poverty and injustice in which every person enjoys their right to a life of dignity.’ and the mission is ‘to work with poor and excluded people to end unequal power relations and injustice in Liberia.’
