About The Event
Due to the current instability in Haiti this event has been cancelled. Local dance troupe, soccer teams and community members are invited to a community meeting to learn more about One Billion Rising, Volunteers For Peace, and the topic of violence toward women and girls in their community and around the world. Local representatives from the hospital, court, and women's organizations will present information. In addition we will invite everyone to learn the dance with us and perform in the market on Friday.
A community meal will be provided.
About The Organization
Volunteers For Peace
Volunteers For Peace (VFP) is a non-profit organization that builds community and addresses local needs by bringing international volunteers and community members together. We were founded in 1982 in Vermont and are a member of the Coordinating Committee for International Voluntary Service (CCIVS). We have been collaborating in LaVallee Haiti for more than 15 years.
