About The Event

International Public Policy Review (IPPR) hand in hand with One Billion Rising UK (OBRUK) in partnership with the University of College London (UCL), School of Public Policy (SPP) joins the fierce struggle against sexual and physical violence against girls and women. What are the policies formulated to address violence against girls and women? Are they effective? What is the role of the media? What is the role of activists? What is the role of young women and men? Who is responsible for addressing VAW? Are we bold enough in our efforts to address VAW? In commemoration of International Women's Day a panel will be hosted with a diverse range of leaders working on public policy and activism on ending violence against girls and women. The purpose of the panel is to give sharper focus and visibility to the issue of violence against girls and women, and to share what is being done to address this epidemic. The panelist will share policies, challenges and progress from a national level touching on global solidarity and support.
