About The Event

Although yoga was developed in ancient India, people of all faiths have found that this body-centered meditation is a great way to improve health, open the heart, and deepen your spirituality. Join yoga teacher and author Darren Main on Tuesday evenings at 6:15 p.m. for this gentle and nurturing yoga practice. You don’t need to be flexible or have prior experience with yoga to benefit. In fact, people of all ages and abilities are welcome and invited to attend. All that is required is a desire to quiet the mind and balance the body. This special class will join one billion people all over the world to protest the violence that impacts one billion women and girls around the world. We will focus our healing energies on ending violence against women and girls. Please bring a yoga mat and any other yoga props you like to use if you have them. Only water is permitted in the Cathedral. Dress in warm yet comfortable exercise clothes as the Cathedral can be quite cool. If you have any serious injuries or medical concerns, please discuss practicing yoga with your doctor. A $10-$20 donation is suggested for this class. If you can give more, that will help us offer yoga to someone who has less. If you can’t afford to donate, we welcome you just the same and we are always looking for volunteers to help in non-financial ways too! Donation boxes are located at the both entrances to the Cathedral. Your donations support the teacher and our musicians on the nights they share their music as well as Grace Cathedral.
