About The Event
The Family Voice started observing 1 Billion Rising last year with the help of partner organizations. The event will be marked with lives band from University of Goroka and the International School of Goroka and we will be inviting the public to join with dancing and fun activities. We'll be joined by schools performing music and dance at the historical park here in Goroka. Peace Park is used for mediation and this is why we chose to this place to rise up and end violence against women.
About The Organization
Eastern Highlands Family Voice Inc.
Eastern Highlands Family Voice vision is "Happy, Healthy, Harmonious" Families in Eastern Highlands and beyond. It was founded in 2001 with a group of women who wanted to raise awareness to end violence against women. Eastern Highlands Family Voice does that through advocacy & awareness, counseling & referral, teaching &training, organizational development and capacity building. The mission statement is to advocate against all forms of abuse and violence within and against the family unit and promote family values and rights at all levels of society.
