Healing Broken Circles provides strength-based, collaborative and trauma-responsive education, training and opportunities for healing. We primarily serve people who are currently incarcerated and those experiencing reentry, as well as their employers and families. HBC impacts public understanding of incarceration by fostering direct dialogue between inside and outside through programs such as TEDx in Prison, Joint Conversations and Social Justice Immersion.
Developed in partnership with the populations we serve, our work is based in positive attitudes about people's dignity, capacities, rights, uniqueness and commonalities, and addresses the wide-ranging human needs for Belonging (establish trusting connections), Mastery (solve problems and meet goals), Independence (build self-control and responsibility) and Generosity (feel respect and concern).
