About The Event
WAVE is presenting its high school's first ever OBR Rally! During lunch periods, students, staff and faculty will be invited in to the main gym to see students, staff, faculty and community members give statements explaining why they rise. After this, there will be a performance of the Break the Chain dance performed by members of WAVE, local college students, community members and other students/staff. We have created a display case and posters to advertise the event. Students and staff with also be encouraged to sign the pledge all week. We aim to beat the 571 signatures that we got last year!
About The Organization
WAVE (Women as Voices and Educators)
W.A.V.E. is a group of students and allies that is focused on combining their strengths to create social change and end social injustices like domestic abuse, verbal abuse, racism, classism, gay oppression, and other negative actions that have become common in today’s society. W.A.V.E. (Women as Voices & Educators) members believe in growing and developing as strong individuals and also in supportive relationships with other members of the school community, building trust, and being the change that they wish to see in their homes, schools, communities, and the world. W.A.V.E. members and allies strive for peace, equality and to strengthen communities by educating and empowering others.
