About The Event
Let's get ready to shake things up Melbourne!
We will be gathering on the St Kilda Foreshore [in front of the sea baths] to dance, drum and spark a revolution - of consciousness - changing community attitudes to violence towards and exploitation of women & girls AND inspiring action - for individuals & communities to rise up and say NO MORE: violence, abuse, exploitation, disempowerment, sexism or misogyny.
The past two years have brought thousands to Fed Square - we have danced, we have been moved, the community has been educated - hopefully, we have contributed to the surge in community awareness around the right of all women to feel safe and empowered.
In 2015 we will disrupt the flow of everyday life by the sea side! We will shake up Saturday 14 of February and flash mob our way in to the hearts & minds of Melbourne - join us!

About The Organizer
Tamar Spatz
Tamar is part of Melbourne's One Billion Rising Melbourne collective. For the past three years, she has volunteered her time alongside OBR Melbourne's passionate co-organisers to create two incredible events at Fed Square, drawing over 3,500 to dance, drum and demand a change in community attitudes and behaviour towards women and girls.
The organising committee is comprised of people working within the education, community, women's, disability, advocacy and entertainment sectors - all members are determined to add their voices to a growing chorus of people seeking to improve the lives of women.
