About The Event
We are partnering with Black Lives Matter Cincinnati, another grassroots, volunteer led organization to do 3 performances:
1) Cincinnati, Oh Community center venue- 1/2 hour reading from different excerpts from the play with women of color, and LGBTIQ Community and 15 minute open mike sharing.
2) Yellow Springs, Oh- Coffee house venue- (60 miles from Cincinnati) 1/2 hour reading from different excerpts from the play with women of color, and LGBTIQ Community and 15 minute open mike sharing.
3) Dayton, Oh- Coffe house venue (15 miles from Yellow Springs, Oh- no city bus systems between city)- 1/2 hour reading from different excerpts from the play with women of color, and LGBTIQ Community and 15 minute open mike sharing.
About The Organization
American Indian Movement of Ohio
The American Indian Movement is a national organization with sanctioned chapters in various cities and states. We are a grassroots, volunteer un-paid staff. Our service and programs operate with out-of-pocket expenses and extensive fundraising. Our chapter in Ohio prioritizes the issue of violence perpetuated against Native/Indigenous women, and advocates on their behalf when need be with law enforcement and social service programs that are not familiar with working with Native/Indigenous women and families because of the lack cultural sensitivity training.
