Fahima is a highly qualified Sudanese feminist leader and gender expert with over 25 years of professional experience. She has a master’s degree in library science is a native Arabic speaker, and proficient in English. Fahima’s professional experience includes over two decades of leading training workshops, campaigns, and research focused on the prevention of gender-based violence (GBV), including violence against women and the broader promotion of women’s rights. She has coordinated and facilitated feminist transformative leadership courses, designed curricula, and mentored more than 100 young feminists from Sudan, Egypt, Palestine, Kenya, and Liberia, building capacity and fostering collective feminist action. Fahima has over 25 years of experience working across East Africa and MENA region, with significant focus on Sudan for more than two decades. Her contributions to Sudan include working on projects addressing women’s rights, peace and conflict, and violence against women, as well as conducting monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) initiatives, needs assessments, and situation analyses for Women Human Rights Defenders. Fahima’s work integrates a holistic feminist approach and gender analysis, which she employs in policy development, movement building, and the dismantling of patriarchy. Her ability to connect with and mentor different generations of feminist activists and women underscores her commitment to advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment.
