I chose to speak up! Not to be embarrassed! I was physically abused by my father while growing up, then I married not one but two very abusive husbands, and after my last divorce, I’ve been single for 17 years ! I can not trust even those who possibly can be deserving of my trust! I used to be embarrassed, I thought it was my fault, I lied about my scars… But I know better now. Now that I have my own kids. I had to teach my son to respect women, to treat them right, to understand they are equal. To share that with his friends. I taught my daughter not to expect any less. Not to settle for anything different. I chose to raise, and speak up when I see something wrong, and not to be afraid, but be powerful! You should too! We are your sisters, your daughters, your mothers….if it wasn’t for us, you wouldn’t be here at all….so, speak up, raise, if you see something, say something!!!
