About The Event
Since 2012, Kogarah Community Services (KCS) has co-ordinated and staged One Billion Rising, an open air multicultural dance festival in Kogarah Town Square to say NO to violence against women. It is a vital event to unite the community to stand together with local politicians, Georges River Council, the police, The Department of Justice, local Domestic Violence Support Services, the media and local businesses, to say we that we want a better and safer future for all women.
The 500+ attendees proudly reflect the wonderfully multicultural community that makes up the St George region of South Sydney. The schedule of activities will include dance performances and displays, self-defence displays, interspersed with speeches and culminating in a dance flash mob!
