About The Event

This year, we are rising for Justice. We are doing it real good as we are RISING over two days. With the help of the CPSU/CSA, Mixed Media, WAYTCO, Emotional Creature Australia, One Billion Rising Perth and all our volunteers, we are fundraising for the Women's Law Center of Western Australia, organising this two day Rising to start 2014. (http://www.wlcwa.org.au/) Like in 2013, you will be invited to participate in our online campaign, there will be speakers, information booths and dance workshops every saturday mornings until the 15th of Feb to prepare for the outdoor action. Yes, you read right, the Saturday 15th of february. We will be on time with our V-Day friends in the US... To add to the awesomeness of the Rising, on the eve of the friday 14th, rising just after New Zealand, we are proud to announce a stage performance of the amazing artistic content created by Eve Ensler: "I am an Emotional Creature", by a group of 8 fierce and tender local young actresses, with the support of the WA Youth Theater Company. The event will still be alcohol free. The food served will be vegan and vegetarian so to extend the compassion to all sentient beings. Come RISE with us. WE WILL DANCE EVERYWHERE!
